Mississippi Mud Cheesy Potatoes

BEST OF 2017: The Top 8 Recipes (2)

It’s crazy to think about, but these Mississippi Mud Potatoes are so simple that it’s a little bit dangerous. With only 5 ingredients and very little prep time, you’ve got the easiest, cheesiest potatoes. Did I mention the recipe is packed with BACON?! Trust me, these are a hit whether you’re taking them for brunch, a holiday potluck, or even just making them as a side dish for your favorite meal.

How do I know the whole family will love these potatoes? They’ve been pinned almost half a million times on Pinterest! Don’t take my word for it, though– CountryLiving listed it as one of their favorite potato recipes, too!

Freddy’s Fry Sauce and Seasoning

BEST OF 2017: The Top 8 Recipes (3)

I had never heard of Fry Sauce until a friend convinced me that I had to try it during my first visit to Freddy’s Steakburgers. I’ve been hooked ever since, and I know it’s pretty much the only condiment worth putting on fries (it’s great on burgers, too, by the way!)

And how close is the recipe to the real deal? Well, nothing can replace an actual visit to Freddy’s Steakburgers and trying it there, but I’d say the recipe is pretty close because Freddy’s even features this one on their website! No wonder y’all have it as my second most viewed post of ALL TIME on this site!

Homemade Pizza Lunchables

BEST OF 2017: The Top 8 Recipes (4)

Anytime I got to take a lunch to school as a child for a field trip or something, I picked the Pizza Lunchable. It was just so fun, getting to assemble it and then eat it. The flavor totally brings back tons of nostalgia and memories, but now that I’m more conscious about what I eat and about what my son eats, I love the option to make my own, homemade. The one has everything you love about the original, but it’s affordable and you know exactly what’s inside of it!

Even though this recipe is one of my oldest recipes on the site (you can even tell by the old watermark from my previous domain!), it’s still wildly popular because of how similar it is to the real deal. Trust me, your kids will be thrilled to take this one! (The best part? You can totally pre-bake the pizza crust, but you can also use the pizza crust recipe for pizza night, too!)

Corn Casserole Recipe

BEST OF 2017: The Top 8 Recipes (5)

I love a good side dish, and I’m especially a fan of this easy corn casserole recipe. It’s like cornbread and creamy bread pudding got together and had a delicious side dish Corn Casserole baby.

I remember many holiday meals this side dish was a part of, but now that I’m an adult, my thoughts are “Why wait for the holiday? Corn casserole year-round!”

Hearty Cheeseburger Soup

BEST OF 2017: The Top 8 Recipes (6)

You would think that cheeseburger soup would mostly show up in the winter, but y’all seem to love this soup all year long. It’s a total classic, and it brings the cheesy, meaty flavor you love from cheeseburgers to a delightfully hearty soup.

You can get the recipe for this cheeseburger soup here.

Homemade Chicken and Dumplings

BEST OF 2017: The Top 8 Recipes (7)

When people ask me what my favorite food to make, my answer is always comfort food, hands down. I love that something as simple as making a meal can bring comfort and joy to those you’re sitting around the table with. That’s why I love this easy chicken and dumpling recipe. My secret? Using a little bit of the chicken broth in the dumplings!

Raspberry Black Bean Dip

BEST OF 2017: The Top 8 Recipes (8)

You wouldn’t think that raspberries and black beans would go together, but Pinterest LOVES this weird sweet-and-spicy flavor pairing in this dip. With jalapenos, pepper jack, and the sweet tanginess of raspberries, this is the perfect dip to WOW your guests with (and it’s not as weird as it sounds!)

If it gets close to dinnertime and we’ve forgotten to make dinner, this easy meal is almost always our go-to choice. It has a lot of great flavor, and mostly relies on ingredients you probably already have on hand. It’s also a big hit with the whole family every time.
