Isidora, Voice of the Dead, is one of two new bosses available to players in Blasphemous: Wounds of Eventide, and she offers a fast-paced fight with a previously unseen gimmick. Isidora, along with Sierpes, must be defeated to reclaim an eye belonging to an exiled member of the Holy Visages. These eyes are necessary to achieve the game's true ending.
After collecting half of the bone trinkets and returning them to the Ossuary in Blasphemous, a door on the right side of the room will open. A corpse whose spirit can be heard using the Shroud of Dreamt Sins informs the player that "she won't allow anyone to interrupt her song". Mechanically, this means players cannot pause the game during this fight. While an interesting premise, the only benefit a player could gain by pausing the fight could be substituting rosary beads or prayers.Although the fight is teased in the Wounds of Eventide trailer that announced Blasphemous’ sequel, overall the gimmick is just that, a gimmick. Players should make sure they have the correct items equipped before entering the fight.

The fight itself is fast and requires dodging multiple sources of damage at once, but Isidora has relatively low health, so the real difficulty is being killed outright, not being worn down. Isidora deals primarily physical and fire damage, so the Piece of a Golden Mask rosary bead will be helpful. At the start of the fightinBlasphemous, an orange glow will pass along the ground from the right, and Isidora will emerge with an upward scythe slash followed by several pillars of fire. The attack can be dodged through or jumped over easily. The best time to deal damage is while Isidora is singing, which sounds remarkably like the Moonlight Butterfly of Dark Souls. She floats in the center of the area producing fireballs, and there is enough time for a full combo. Her most damaging attack is a series of three dashing scythe attacks which are telegraphed by her bracing the scythe at the edge of the area. These attacks can be parried, but jumping over them is much easier and there is no opportunity to riposte. In between these larger sequences, there are also pillars of fire for the player to avoid, spinning scythe attacks that can be parried, and an attack that drags her scythe along the ground that can be jumped over or parried.

After reaching half health Isidora enters her second phasein thisBlasphemous boss fight. There will be a series of flaming pillars, concluding with pillars approaching in a wave from both edges of the area while Isidora sings high up in the center. These pillars can be avoided by remaining in the exact center of the area, during which time the player can get a few hits in on Isidora. The second phase is much more difficult because there will be a constant flow of fireballs coming from the bonfire at the center of the area, creating a bit of bullet hell.
The Zarabanda of the Safe Haven prayer can help with the fireballs, and while payers may be tempted to go on the defensive, an aggressive playstyle is key. During this phase, the best time to get hits in on Isidora is after she pulls a barrage of fireballs into herself from the bonfire, and then creates pillars of fire while floating around. She won't attack with her scythe during this time, so as long as the flaming balls and pillars can be avoided the player has a break from the onslaught that is phase two of this fight. These attacks don't last very long, so most of the damage will be dealt after parrying spinning attacks.
Like the Pursuer in Dark Souls 2, Isidora is a test of the player's parrying and positioning skills. There are no other bosses that act as prerequisites to Isidora, and as long as she is defeated before the player fights Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony, Isidora can be fought as soon as enough bones are collected. Despite this, Isidora is still one of the more difficult bosses in the game.
