Gatton joined John Reger and Stacey Skrysak on the Evening news desk in the WICS Newschannel 20/Fox Illinois news in 2017. Prior to that, she traded in the cactus for the capital city, most recently, she reported and anchored in Phoenix, Arizona. She was also the evening anchor in Eugene, Oregon, and morning anchor in Roseburg, Oregon.
She started off her career in January 2013 at KPIC Roseburg as a Weekend Morning Anchor/Reporter. Her duties included Anchoring 2-hour Weekend Morning Newscasts, Producing Weekend Morning Newscasts, Cultivating exclusive content and sources for daily newscasts, special projects, and Live reporting.
She later got transferred to KVAL, Eugene, in September 2013 as a multi-media Journalist and weekend reporter and anchor. Dee did the same duties as she did in her previous station. In June 2014, she moved to KLSR, Sinclair Broadcasting as an anchor and producer. Her duties were added to being an executive producer whereby she approves all scripts and contents.
Gatton also managed afternoon meetings, daily assignments, and story pitches for the day. She was also a field anchor. In October 2015 she was the news anchor at KPNX, Phoenix, where she anchored the Morning Live traffic and breaking news.
