Vanilla Ice Cream I used this Ninja CREAMi Vanilla Ice Cream in this recipe. but you could use store-bought vanilla ice cream also. Just be aware that the consistency of the Dole Whip will depend on the ingredients in whichever ice cream you use.

Pineapple Chunks or Tidbits Of course I used Dole Pineapple Chunks in this recipe, but any brand will work. You can use either canned or frozen, but if you use canned, get pineapple chunks that are packed in pineapple juice, instead of syrup, so there isn’t any added sugar. And bonus, you can use the juice in the recipe instead of buying a can of pineapple juice! Note: If you can’t find pineapple chunks or tidbits, don’t substitute crushed pineapple. It has too much juice in it and will make your Dole Whip very soft.

Pineapple Juice Canned pineapple juice is usually found in the juice section of the grocery store, but not all stores carry it. If you can’t find it in your store, use pineapple chunks that are canned in pineapple juice and just measure out two ounces to use in this recipe.

Can I use frozen fruit in the Ninja CREAMi?

The Ninja CREAMi manual states that frozen fruit should not be used in making ice cream bases, because the fruit pieces can be very hard which could damage the machine.
