Think twice before you tweet, post, or share! 📱A staggering 74% of hiring managers are turning to social media to screen potential candidates. While platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and even TikTok can be a window into your personality and interests, they can also reveal more than you'd like. From political views to weekend escapades, your online presence is under the microscope. And with 85% of these screeners admitting they've passed on candidates due to their online content, it's clear: your digital footprint matters. So, as you curate your online persona, remember it might just be the first impression for your next job.Know more here:https://bit.ly/3QFbzO6#workforce #worklife #digitalfootprint #digitalage #socialmedia #employees

I'm not a recruiter. I'm going to tell you why this job post sucks anyway. 😡 (Creds: From someone who has hired both social media and brand strategists as part of the marketing team and has a decade of experience leading people in both roles)🚩 No. 1 - #SocialMedia AND #Brand strategiest. Nope, nope, nope. Both are full-time roles. A good social media strategist needs 38 hours of each 24-hour day to get everything done.🚩 No. 2 - No paid media budget. Only the top 1% of brands are going to grow ORGANICALLY on Meta (Facebook and Insta). There's still some green pasture on TikTok but not for long, and competition is fierce. No pay, no play. Or, you can pray to play and hope you hit the jackpot.🚩 No. 3 - $18 to $35 bucks an hour for someone to do two full-time jobs.🚩 No. 4 - This company wants someone with an "intermediate" level of experience to do two full-time jobs with no resources. Thoughts and prayers. 🎤 ⬇

A few interesting pieces of information over the past few days, all of which are changing the face of #talentacquisition 🙈 The online world is going to (probably) become increasing #adfree. Especially for people with medium-high incomes who are happy to pay for the ads to be removed. Subscription services are increasingly showing the way, Facebook has this as an option in Europe, you can go ad free on Apple devices, and so on.For Talent teams building sourcing funnels, getting out the EVP message, and more - what does this mean if our audience isn’t seeing the ads? 🙈🤖 Check out the latest Rubberband. The recruitment network for all podcast with Ben Ihle from Attract. Super cool business, but the main thesis is that traditional searching and sourcing needs to be re-thought - hiring to type (and starting this with a search to find this type) just plays over and over again in the same competitive talent pool. It’s time to start thinking creatively. 🚗 The (ever-increasing) focus on skills mobility. Thinking about teams in an abstract way, thinking about skills moving sideways and up and down, breaking away from the traditional mould. Great share from Gareth Flynn about this. What does all this mean?As Edan Haddock 🐟 puts it perfectly “I know a lot of people who fear how fast AI and technology is developing... But there is never going to be a time when human skills aren’t going to be needed. Now is the time to amplify the human skills"For me, this is all very exciting. Technology might be the enabler, but hopefully it’s helping us all move away from the cookie cutter approach and getting back to understanding each person as unique and beautiful. September Surge has always existed, TikTok just gave it a fun name... What is September Surge Hiring? September Surge is the end-of-summer pickup in hiring and recruiting activity. People are habitual, and we’re socialized to experience a time of “new beginnings” come January, with the New Year, and September, with back to school, so we witness a surge in hiring activity. Why Does It Happen? People take more holidays throughout the summer, and come September, the hiring decision-makers are back at work. There is also often a more clear understanding of budgets for the next fiscal year, which contributes to the ability to hire. So, whether you're seeking new horizons or a company gearing up for expansion, September Surge is the tide you might want to ride. #SeptemberSurge #NewBeginnings #Hiring

Connect with the talent that you’re seeking in the places where they naturally hang out. 73% of millennials found their last job on a social network. And the average Gen Z member maintains seven social media profiles (and over the coming years, they will contribute 61 million employees to the workforce.)Posting job ads on your company’s facebook page is just the beginning. Social platforms allow you to actively curate and engage with individual content creators who have highly specialized skills sets they are passionate about, and you can connect with their audience. It’s a way to find people who are naturally interested in the career opportunities that you’re offering. #socialmediarecruiting, #talentacquisition, #HR, #Recruiting, #Careers, #DigitalTransformation, #HumanResources

While "personality hires" feel like a trend extreme. Companies shouldn't overlook a candidate's adaptability and aligned values. In what will be disappointing only to those who found my AI-generated Clown selfie funny, I will never join TikTok.I just don't see the need. I'm also not on Snapchat or any of those other new-fangled apps that the kids love. None of those apps affect my day to day life in any way.I do find it bemusing, however, that some people, particularly senior executives, are hold-outs on LinkedIN. They don't have, or don't keep an up to date linkedin profile, and don't intend to. Some explanations I have heard:* I'm too senior* I'm too old * My industry doesn't find staff via linkedin* Linkedin is only for finding jobsLook, in and of itself, to each their own, right? Sure. But if you are not going to engage in the world's largest corporate communications platform, make sure your reasoning is solid. For example, the individual who said they were too senior then went on to say that for the roles at his level (C-Suite of listed firms) he was known by the SHREK firms anyway. Rather than counter these arguments as I intended, I'd actually like to open it up to the hive mind, today. Do these arguments stack up? Can you be too senior to need a LI profile? Is it only for 'finding jobs'?Should I, in fact, join TikTok?#overtoyou #linkedinhivemind
